Dear  Family and Friends,

Happy Christmas! (as they say down under) Hope you are all well.  2002 just flew by, except for the summer months which were long and hot as we waited for baby to arrive.  Since we are asked many questions especially since we’ve been away for awhile, we thought we’d do our own top 10.

Top 10 most asked questions

of Glenn and Rory

10)  Where are you living now?   Rancho Penasquitos.  We moved back to SD in April and after looking at AT LEAST 20 homes, found a rental on half an acre in a cul-de-sac for the children’s playground.

9)  Why did you move back?   Several reasons.  Rory’s allergies were worse there.  And because it’s colder and wetter, we got sick more often and longer.  We also missed our family and friends.

8)  Do you miss NZ?  Absolutely!  We miss the friends we made and the slower paced, almost stress-free lifestyle.  (We went to 6 parties in 5 days and more to come)  We miss the sheep (you see them everywhere you go and eating lamb) and the sight of lush green.  But we are also glad to be back.

7)  Where do the children go to school?  They are homes schooled, hence, the ½ acre yard.  We joined the Mira Mesa Christian Home Schooling Group and our church New Hope’s Home Schooling group.

6)     Where do you (Glenn) work? Balboa Naval Hospital.  With a team he tries to keep the computer system running.

5)  Do you have a  TV?  (referring to our answer to question 3)  No,  for 3 years now.

4)  Are you crazy (referring to our answer to question 3)?  No.

3)     Are these ALL yours? Yes!

(or when the children aren’t with us) How many do you have now?  Only 5.  Our 2 pairs became a full house when Ethan James joined us on 7 October, at 8 pounds 7 ounces.  He is our sweet little Mr. and the older 4 love to hear stories about how we did this and that when they were babies.  Christianne, Joshua and Jordan study violin, the boys are in a basketball league and Theresa loves to sing.

2)  How do you do it? The Lord !  We took a parenting class called “Growing Kids God’s Way”  2 yrs ago in NZ and read Dr. Dobson’s books. Ultimately,  we do it with the Lord’s help.  “I can do all things through God who strengthens me.”  Phil 4:13

The most asked question in 2002 (actually, the most asked question since we had Christianne)

1)    Are you going to have any more?  Only the Lord knows that for sure.  Children are a gift of the Lord.”  Psalm 127:3  He is in control.

This year, we also celebrated our 10th anniversary in Oct and Rory’s 40th in Nov.  We are also thankful for the birth of Ethan and Oma’s (Glenn’s mom) full recovery from meningitis.  With much to be thankful for we had a party earlier this month.

In NZ, we got involved with World Vision, a ministry that helps poor children in third world countries. Please take a look  at the web site  www.shopministry.comAll profit will go toward sponsorship of 4 children.  There is so much joy in giving especially to those who are in real need.  We hope you will consider this ministry when you need to buy gifts for your loved ones so that more children can be sponsored.

We are thankful for you (our family and friends) and for Jesus.  To share a verse from a lovely Christmas song we learned in N.Z.,  Long time ago in Bethlehem,  so the Holy Bible say, Mary's boy child Jesus Christ, was born on Christmas Day, let us remember the true meaning of this season.
